Welcome to the Pacific Highway Wells Crossing to Iluka Road upgrade
The NSW Roads and Traffic Authority (RTA) has selected the preferred
route for the upgrade of the Pacific Highway between Wells Crossing and
The proposed 70km dual carriageway between Wells Crossing and Iluka
Road would significantly improve safety on this section of the Pacific
Highway. Planning for the project is being funded by the NSW State Government
as part of the Pacific Highway Upgrade Program.
Following the display of the preferred route in September 2006,
the concept design for the upgrade has been developed and was on display for community comment until Friday 6 March 2009.
The concept design includes refinements to the alignment following consultation with stakeholders,
property owners and comments received since the display of the preferred route.

The Roads and Traffic Authority plans to upgrade the Glenugie section of the Pacific Highway between Coffs Harbour and Grafton at an estimated cost of $60 million. This 7km section forms part of the Wells Crossing to Iluka Road project.
